Our registered office is 3 Old Mill Court, Whiphill Top Lane, Branton, Doncaster DN3 3NU. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website.

What we collect and why

When you contact us

If you use our contact form or email us, we collect your name, email address and anything else you choose to give us, such as your phone number and the details of your enquiry. We use this to reply to you and to discuss any work you ask us about.

The contact form does not store your message on the website. It is sent straight to our email inbox.

Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and, where you ask us about a project, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

When you visit the website

Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. These are used to keep the site secure and working. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Cookies and third-party content

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. WordPress sets cookies only for people who log in to manage the site.

Some fonts on our home page are loaded from Google. When they load, Google receives your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy for details.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, under contracts that require them to protect it:

  • Krystal Hosting, which hosts this website on servers in the UK;
  • Microsoft, which provides our email (Microsoft 365);
  • Google, as described under cookies above.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

We may also disclose information if the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to two years after our last contact.
  • Enquiries that lead to work: kept with our client records, normally for six years after the work ends, for legal and accounting reasons.
  • Server logs: for the short period set by our hosting provider.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or transfer it to someone else. To use any of these rights, email ask@mill-court.com. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
